Check out this Harmonic Minor Run!.

The harmonic minor scale is the same as the natural minor scale except it contains a sharpened 7th note. In the key of A "shown here" this would involve replacing a G note with a G sharp. natural minor scale = ABCDEFG, Harmonic minor scale = ABCDEF Gsharp A. The 3 underlying chords for this run: Am, Dm, and E7 are also a product of the harmonic minor scale, because in the nat minor there would be an Em instead of E7. Em however, contains a minor 3rd G and E7 contains a major 3rd "g sharp",which is our harmonic minor spice.I like to add the 7th to the E chord just to spice it up a little more.
Make sure you practice this run nice and slow and concentrate on getting good co ordination happening beetween your two hands.
bye for now,
Matt. |
